Trip to Little Rock

We got back late Tuesday night from a great trip to Little Rock where much of my family gathered at my brother's house for the weekend. For those that don't know, my niece, Christy has a daughter Olivia who is three weeks younger than Sadie. This if the first time they had a chance to meet and it was so fun to get them together! Unfortunately Sadie caught a cold the first night we were there (which several of us now have), but she still maintained a good mood and seemed to enjoy meeting much of her extended family! Sadie took charge on the plane...luckily on the first leg we had 3 seats to ourselves so she was able to play in the aisle. The second leg was a little tighter but she did great overall!

Boy, I sure wish Uncle Bob would hang this swing up so we could swing on it!

Sadie enjoyed the stroller ride so much she fell asleep. She looks like a giant here doesn't she?

Sadie is REALLY into bubbles right now--it's one of her favorite words...at home she keeps walking to the back door and pointing outside and saying, "bubbos, bubbos"

While Sadie seems to have more of a stature of a football player than Olivia does, she enjoyed playing catch with her Uncle Bobby!

Home 6 months!

It's hard to believe that Sadie has been home 6 months as of last Friday! Time has certainly flown by! She continues to do very well. Talking more and more...she says her name "Dadie"--very cute. One of her favorite new words (and things to do) is "bubbo" (that would be bubble)! We're working on her being gentle.."geno" and she carries Grandma and Grandpa's picture around all the time while saying "Papa, Papa".

She definitely has a defiant side and we've had to start using time-out. Now sometimes when she does something she knows she's not supposed to she'll point to the "naughty place." I say, "yes, if you do that again you'll have to go sit in the naughty place." She'll toddle over to it, sit down, and do a little fake cry...it is hard not to laugh! She's too smart for her own good!

This weekend we are headed to my brother's in Little Rock where most of the family will be gathering. We're looking forward to it but I'm a little nervous about the plane flight! Hopefully all will go well and Sadie will be cooperative!

We went outside the other night and played with the bubble machine. Sadie can work it herself and loves chasing the bubbles!

We went to the park on Saturday to play. I couldn't pry Sadie out of the swings long enough to do anything else! She took one trip down the slide and headed right back to the swings. There was bit of protesting when it was time to leave!!!!


Obviously she hates it! She yells "wheeeee" the whole time!

On Sunday we went over to our friend Cindy's house to swim in the pool. I think Sadie was embarrased to get her picture taken in her new bikini!!!

The pool was a bit chilly and mommy was less than excited so we went out and played with bubbles again!

I had to keep Sadie from eating the rind of the watermelon. That kid can down fruit in a flash!

I have to wrestle with Sadie on control of the toothbrush. After I take a few swipes at her teeth I let her have it. She loves "brushing" her teeth! She was being especially cute tonight so I had to snap some pics!
