Sadie's first Christmas

Oh goodness we've been busy since we last posted! We went to a birthday party dinner, a couple of lunches out and then Sadie promptly got another cold on Thursday. Her cold was fairly short-lived but she passed it on to Mommy on Christmas Eve who is still suffering a bit! We're working hard to get healthy in time for Sadie's birthday party next week though!

Sadie enjoyed opening her gifts and as is typical, really enjoyed all the paper and boxes!! Then Uncle Paul came to visit on Christmas Day and he left this morning. Sadie whined all the way home from the airport--she LOVED her Uncle Paul--he is her new favorite buddy!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Enjoy the pictures!

P.S. I forgot to add--Sadie is officially walking--she prefers walking to crawling now! Mommy does not prefer it as it results in a whole lot more bumps, bruises, and crying! But, she is coping!

Just looking cute!

Someone had a hard time leaving the Christmas presents alone--this one in particular (which was not for her) seemed to be her favorite to go after!

"Here, Mom--here's a present for ya!"

Cool--my own cell phone so I don't have to go after Mom's all the time!

Mmmm...thanks for the DVD Mom--it tastes really good!

This garbage is GREAT!!!

Still lovin' my cell phone!

Thanks Uncle Bob and Aunt Marty for this Dr. Seuss character! Mommy doesn't know who (what) it is though? Can someone tell her?

I had lots of fun with Uncle Paul!

Good week!

We've had a good week and Sadie has been a trooper! We went out several times this week and it's obvious she's starting to feel more comfortable. She used to be so somber around other people but she's starting to let her personality show! She gets cuter everyday! Enjoy some pics below--they are kind of out of order...
My friends Pete and Kim and their twin daughters Sophie and Emily came to visit on Saturday on their way through town. Sadie wasn't sure what to think of Pete though I tried to warn her about his sense of humor! She loved Kim though who unfortunately didn't make the picture here!

Sadie loves to get behind these curtains and look out the windows!

We went to work this week to attend a retirement party. Sadie did great with everyone wanting to hold her and touch her! She especially likes "Tia Lucy" here who speaks Spanish to her...I think it makes Sadie feel comfortable!

This is Sadie irritated that I won't let her play with the camera!

She likes to hide...

... and play peek-a-boo!

I finally got brave enough to put he Christmas tree up this week! It has lights but no ornaments! Sadie seems to care less for the most part. Here she is inspecting it a bit but that's about the extent of her interest! She does however like the tree skirt and today when I put a present under the tree...well, that didn't last long!

Sadie has about had it with baby food! I've tried the Gerber spaghettis and raviolis and she'll have none of it. This week I made "real" spaghetti though and she loved it! A bit messy but most of it made it in her mouth!

We visited Beadlejules this week--my friend Julie's bead store for the weekly "beading bee"! Sadie had a great time with her buddies--especially Julie who is great entertainment!

Happy girl enjoying her breakfast of toast, bananas, and cheerios!

Sadie finally fell asleep after about 45 minutes of talking to herself and I found her in this position! I can barely keep socks on her anymore...she loves to yank them off!

Home a month!

We have been home one month already! Time has flown. Sadie continues to do well and I get more smiles out of her everyday. We had a couple of firsts this week--our first play date (which I've discovered is really for the moms--not so much for the kids!), and our first sleep through the whole night!!! That was on Thursday and unfortunately it hasn't been repeated but at least there's hope!

Enjoy a few pics below!

Playdate with the twins--Lyla and Anna!

Sadie and Anna enjoy some Cheerios...Sadie was kind of a pig--grabbing them from Anna--we need to work on her manners a bit before she heads to daycare!!!

She continues to get closer to walking everyday. She takes one or two steps--so close...

Too cute!

Mom, get this ridiculous thing off my head!!

Loving her monkey! This makes a monkey noise when you press on it's stomach which amuses Sadie greatly--it used to be in her crib but sometimes in the middle of the night she would roll on it and I'd hear the monkey noise over the monitor! It has since been removed!! :)

More cute pics!

Thank goodness for the no-spill sippy cups!!!
Sadie has discovered "things that roll!" She loves putting her sippy cup or bottle on the table and watching it roll back and forth...of course then she likes to pick it up and bang it on the glass! We're working on 'no, no, no banging on the glass..."

"Ma, what happened to my pants???"

I took Sadie's pants off the other night because they were a little long and she kept tripping on them. It was like I freed her of a harness! She kept going around and around the coffee table, always with the pants in her hand as some sort of balancing item! Very funny!

You can see all 4 of her teeth in this picture if you click twice and blow it up big! And, yes, she scratched herself between her eyes--man it's hard to keep those fingernails short!

Just being cute!

This is more to show off the cute outfit! She looked so grown up in it!

Holiday pj's

Sadie was so cute yesterday morning in her holiday pajamas (thanks Valerie!), I had to snap a few pictures!

You can see her two new bottom teeth in this picture

She turns around and smiles everytime she makes the music play on this toy!

She's decided the curtains are a great new toy!

Peek-a-boo!

Here are the pics

Here are the pics I promised!
This is usually the face I get when she decides she doesn't want anymore of whatever I'm feeding her! Not sure what brought it out at this point but probably something she was unhappy with!

Visiting with Grandma

One of my favorite outfits I got her at the local consignment shop!

Multi-tasking!

Eating is a bit of a messy experience right now! Here she is having a teething biscuit--she kept sticking it in her mouth like a cigar!!
