Toys that aren't toys...

I've been negligent on the picture taking the last few weeks but caught up some this week. Sadie is getting bigger and older and closer to her terrible twos every day! Yesterday we had two full blown face on the floor tantrums...unfortunately one was on the floor of the garage! Yuck! She gets frustrated easily when she doesn't get her way and likes to lie on the floor face down and sob...she also seems to have decided that diaper changes are no longer fun. She flips over face down with her arms under her body. Some days it's quite a wrestling match to get the diaper on her...oy...she is full of challenges!

She also gets cuter and funnier and smarter every day and has many more happy moments than the ones described above. She seems to still enjoy the toys best that are not toys as evidenced in some of the pictures below!

Wearing a box on your head is fun...

As is standing on a pillow...

Or turning your chair into a slide...

Oh, that is so much fun!

Apparently the real toys are drudgery...

Perhaps this will be more fun if I adorn myself with an accessory!

Man, this mothering stuff is hard work...

A laundry basket is fun to get into...

And Mommy's shoes are fun to put on...

And if you can combine both into one activity, that is great fun...

I've been dreading this day...miraculously, Sadie had not yet begun to "climb" much. Today I turned around and she was half way into this chair...

(P.S. I don't usually have a lawn chair in my living room...long story...)

She kept working..

And then was quite proud of her accomplishment!

She made it up and down in one piece...

And then needed a rest in a familiar spot closer to the ground...

And then it was back to Mommy's shoes...

We went out to dinner with some friends this week to say goodbye to our friend Ric who is moving to Connecticut.
