Sadie vs. the ants...

Well, it's been an interesting week. On Monday Sadie's class went outside to play at daycare. She grabbed a shovel and promptly sat down in an ant pile and began digging! Needless to say, the ants were not amused and took their vengeance out on poor Sadie...she has well over 100 ant bites on her...mostly on her right leg and right hand. She had shorts on that day but a long sleeve shirt so they didn't get too far up her arms. One made it all the way up behind her ear but none on her face.


Thankfully, she apparently isn't allergic to them. The first day and evening she didn't even seem to notice it had happened. That night she had a hard time sleeping and tossed and turned the whole night--obviously uncomfortable. Her hand was swollen in the morning but after that they didn't seem to bother her too much at all! She notices them and says "boo-boo" and scratches them here and there but not too bad. I'm amazed as one ant bite can keep me awake at night! I'm thankful she wasn't too traumatized by the whole experience! They are starting to dry up now and I'm just hoping they don't leave scars...

Luckily none made it into her diaper area although there were alot on her upper thigh...

This is the 2nd night--after they started to blister...her poor hand looked so painful...

She even had some on her palm and between her fingers...

Her right leg is just covered with them...I'm glad one of the rules at daycare is that they wear socks so at least none got on her feet and toes...

No bites--just a pretty face...

I bought Sadie a new pair of crocs a few weeks ago when we were in Austin. They are the next size up so they are too big for her. Every night she goes in her room and gets one old one and one new one and puts them on...usually on the wrong feet as they are here! I'm not sure why she feels the need to mix them but she is consistent about it! very funny!

Last night Sadie was dragging all this junk around with her while pushing the stroller...very amusing...
